HOUSE OF REPS SET UP ADHOC COMMITTEE TO INVESTIGATE INACTIVITY IN ONNE SEA PORTS – UCHE

The Federal House of Representatives has set up an Adhoc Committee to carry out a thorough investigation on the Eatern Ports to ascertain the cause of the abandonment of the Ports by the Port Users.

ut to reduce the stress being encountered by Shippers who are forced to route their cargos through Lagos ports contrary to their wishes and right of making choices in ports selection.

“Let me also use this opportunity to inform the traders, Merchants and the Shippers in this area of the genuine intention of the government to address the issue of non patronage of the Eastern ports as a result of infrastructure deficits at the ports”, he said.
Chief Uche used the forum to thank the Founder of NAGAFF, Dr Boniface Aniebonam for all his financial support and fatherly role, and also to the Area Controller Of Customs,PH Area II, Onne Command , Comptroller Saidu  Aliyu  , the Port Manager NPA, Onne, Alhaji Alhassan Ismaila, the General Manager WACT, Mr. Innocent Ogbuji, heads of all Security  and Regulatory Agencies for their support to the Onne chapter of the Association.
In his address of welcome, the Zonal Vice President, South East, Fwdr. Francis Onwuchekwa commended the vision Founder, Dr. Aniebonam, the National President and Board Chairman for their resolute and visionary leadership and assured that nthe dynamic Dr. Okay Okoro led Executives would make great marks in the operations of Freight Forwarding in Onne Sea Port.
Responding, The Chairman of Onne Sea Port Chapter, Nagaff, Dr. Okay Okoro who accepted the responsibility to take the chapter to higher heights on behalf of the EXCOs , assured to bring their wealth of experience in ending some of their challenges such as alert and DN, saying, “We are coming from a vantage of a family that does not compromise with capacity and quality”.
Highlights of the occasion was the swearing-in of the newly Elected Executives by the Senior Legal Adviser to NAGAFF, Bar. Fred Akokia as well mas the Highlighting of the NAGAFF Academy by the Registrar, Mr.   Francis Omotosho.
