Newly reconstituted Executive members of the Ikorodu Chapter of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has been sworn in.

Performing the ceremony at its national headquarters, in Apapa -Lagos, the national President of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Chief Increase Uche  pointed out the repositioning of the Ikorodu Chapter has become a mandatory issue considering the current situation at the Ports, especially with the transference of overtime Cargo to Ikorodu, as it would soon become a full command

He challenged the Ikorodu Chapter Executives to work unitedly , peacefully and ensure to avoid overlapping of duties.
Chief Uche also charged leaders in the leading freight forwarding association in the maritime sector to attach seriousness and professionalism to every assignment given to them to carry out.

“It calls for seriousness and professionalism must be attached to every assignment to be carried out there, saying that Ikorodu happen to be one of the chapters in the western zone where elections are to be carried out. Other chapters had already conducted elections into their EXCO and that is what we are aiming at, at no distant time
“I know you people have been doing well. We have heard the performance of the current chairman, what he had being doing in the past and with the support of the members of the Executives. We want that brotherhood to continue in the chapter as one big family.
Speaking also, the Founder of NAGAFF, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam urged those who occupied various positions in the association to do their job creditably for the progress and growth of NAGAFF.
Dr. Aniebonam who advised the new leadership to intensify their effort in assisting their members, solve their problems said, “NAGAFF is a name. You saw what Denca Services have done now. They blackmailed us; we have not replied yet. You see, when you throw a stone inside the market, you don’t know who is there.  Why are blackmailing NAGAFF?
“You know how things are not working, even Decan for instance. Do you not know DENCA is an agent, freight forwarders like us? That you are running a bonded Terminal does not mean that you are above every other person. Take me as an example, is it running a Bonded Terminal that I have not made money for? But I am happy I have created capacity, that’s why you are here. What will you be remembered for when you are no longer here? So, you see how people behave. Why? Why? Why? Why?  Will you be blackmailing us that NAGAFF is extorting what?
“You know that the place is waterlog, you know that the movement of consignment from the modern port to your place is illegal and you are still doing it. NAGAFF’s respondent will come at the most convenient time”.
In an interview with timenewsreporter shortly after their inauguration,  the new chairman of Ikorodu chapter of NAGAFF, Revd. Edmund Nwosu who described the appointment a welcomed development as well as a great task ahead of them and assured that they would deliver.
On what would be his focus,  he said, ” We have so much goal. NAGAFF is not so much popular in Ikorodu,  we have already mapped out strategy on how we can publicize NAGAFF there and one of the goals we have is to charter barge in the name of NAGAFF to bring our containers from Apapa to Ikorodu and we have a goal or plan of having a bonded terminal in the name of NAGAFF in Ikorodu because we don’t have any bonded terminal there.
On how he intends to achieve, this Revd. Nwosu said,  “by the grace of God,  I have able executives,  we are working together. We have access to small personal funds coupled with the cooperation of the ACG”.
