The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), yesterday flagged off the training program for NAGAFF 100 per cent Compliance Team aimed at learning how to improve on the freight forwarding business.

It could be recalled that NAGAFF about two months ago inaugurated a 100 per cent Compliance Team saddled with the responsibility of ensuring that Trade Rules as given by the federal government is complied with at Nation’s ports.
The Training Programme organised by NAGAFF Academy is scheduled for five days to better equip the trainees to become professional freight forwarders as well as gather knowledge to execute their job as Compliance Team members effectively.
NAGAFF President, Chief Increase Uche, while speaking at the ceremony declared the day as the beginning of a new dawn, stating that training had been one of the areas of strength sustaining NAGAFF and therefore, encouraged the first set of the Compliance Team members embarking on the five-day program to take the training serious, stressing that no knowledge was a waste.
According to him, the training is to make the Organisation function well as well as lift the standard of the individuals. He assured that after the training, the freight forwarders would not be the same but be able to open their eyes to areas they were not aware of.
Uche also advised the trainees not to stop at this level but proceed further and register with the Academy at the end of the five-day training for a full course in freight forwarding.
“What counts much no matter your level of education is attitude and the trainees will get this aspect in the training. NAGAFF will do anything to ensure the image of the Organisation is upheld.
He lauded the vision of NAGAFF Academy which he said was established in 2009 saying that he is a proud product of the Academy and urged every forwarder to undergo study in the School to become professional on the job.
Earlier in his opening remark, the Registrar of NAGAFF Academy, Francis Omotosho, emphasized the need for members of the team to enhance their knowledge in the field of freight forwarding, approaching their business activities including their duties with the level of professionalism it deserves, adding that the Founder of NAGAFF, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, had graciously awarded free scholarship to all the Compliance team officers in Western zone,  to ensure their liberation.
Thereafter, Dr Aniebonam, represented by the Deputy National President, Mr. Simeon Nwonu, flagged off the training programme.
In his closing remarks, the Secretary General of the Association, Comrade Dipo Olayokun, urged the trainees to be loyal and obedient while declaring that the training would be a huge success.
