The Re-appointment of the Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Bala-Usman by the Federal Government have continued to receive some laud ovation from the freight Forwarders in the Maritime industry.

The Federal Government last month re-appointed Hadiza and the NPA Board for another 5 years to steer the ship of the Authority considering their track records in their last tenure.
The MD/CEO Swift Stream Nig. Ltd., Chief Emeka Okonkwo. described her reappointment as a welcomed development having performed creditably in her first tenure, despite the challenges the Agency have been facing especially on bad access roads to the ports , traffic-gridlock, port congestion and others while speaking with Time News Reporter in his office in Apapa, Lagos
Chief Okonkwo who said her reappointment was on merit, praised the authority for the introduction of a call-up system which would ease off traffic which had hampered smooth entry and exit of trucks and containers from the Lagos ports.
He also commended the NPA MD for shutting down Hanover Bonded Terminal for deviating from the contextual agreement he signed  which according to him will serve as a deterrent to other terminal operators.
Furthermore, Chief Okonkwo who is also the Secretary, Apapa Chapter of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), remarked that  ”Hadiza’s administration has brought good conduct on the part of the NPA workers as well as good management and maintenance of port access roads from Ijora Bridge to the port, though with some challenges on the Tin Can -Cocoanut – Mile 2 road.”
On what should be the focus of Hadiza’s administration in the next five years , he said…….
