Journalists in the country have been advised to promote national security through objective reportage of events.
The Controller of Immigration, Seaports/Marine Command, Comptroller Abdulkadir Garo who gave the advise in Lagos while rubbing minds with some Journalists said such efforts will help in rebranding the image of the country.
Comptroller Garo further pointed out that the media has the ability to change the negative security reports and assured to operate an open door policy.
The new Seaports/Marine Controller who assumed duty recently, took over from Comptroller Emmanuel Ayodele Arogundade recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Controller General, Immigration expressed his love for the media activities as journalism was his first profession at a tender age.
He hails from Kano State and had served in different formations of the Nigerian Immigration Service(NIS) including Passport Office, Ikoyi where he worked as Passport Control Officer until his redeployment to Lagos Seaport/Marine Command
