National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders NAGAFF has clinched 8 seats  out of 15 seats in the just concluded Council for the Regulation of Freight forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) Governing Council election held in the 3 zones  such as Northern Zone, Eastern Zone and Western Zones.
The Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents(ANLCA) had 5 seats, while Independent Candidates had One seat respectively.
The elections which was conducted simultaneously in three zones saw the emergence of  Princess Chi Eze pulling 224 votes, Alhaji Ibrahim Tanko got 179 votes, Ndubuisi Uzoegbu  had 147 votes;
Awogbemi Timothy polled 145 votes; Chukwunonso EJIKEME had 120 voted; Chief Tochukwu Ezisi got 110 votes;. Ekemezie IFeanyi, 72 votes and Muftahu Ya’u 91 votes all from NAGAFF.
Others include Chief Kayode Farinto, 72 votes; Henry Njoku 53 votes, IFeanyi Goddy got 52 votes; Kingsley Offor 44 votes; Christopher Okafor 26 votes, while Bala Rabiu Lawal (AREFF) Independent candidate had 54 votes and Chief Increase Uche, Independent Candidate got  121 votes.

Speaking to Journalists shortly after the announcement of the results, the National President of NAGAFF, Chief Tochukwu Ezisi and  Council member-elect who dedicated his victory to  God and NAGAFF said the results of the election proved that NAGAFF has capacity
“When we were agitating for 6.6.1.1.1 formular, it was  not for NAGAFF. Left for NAGAFF, we will take the 15 seats. We were begging for Six before, now we had eight. NAGAFF has the capacity”, he said
Chief Ezisi  who described the election as credible, however disclosed that there were some irregularities , stating that someone was caught with  machine printing indentity cards for people to cast their votes.
According to him,  “the winning is liberation for freight forwarders and I want to promise  freight forwarders that their voice will be  heard.I will also make sure that the Industry witness a big positive turnaround during my tenure in the Council which will inturn bring a new direction in the Industry.

In his reaction,  the National Chairman of 100% Compliance Committee, and Council  member- elect, assured of true representation of the freight forwarders in the Council,   and re-write the wrongs in the industry as well as make business activities to thrieve unhindered in addition to  liberating  them from all forms of bondages
“The election is good  although not without challenges. We have done our best and we have handed everything to God.”
Alhaji Tanko used the forum to thank his teeming voters for their support and large votes which gave him victory at the polls

The Election Committee Chairman, Lagos and the Director Maritime Services, Federal Ministry of Transportation, A D Sulieman in his assessment of the elections, described it as peaceful, free and fair, but however expressed dissatisfaction over the manner freight forwrders conducted themselves and advised them to try to be orderly when next  elections are being conducted as responsible personalities.

However, Timenews Reporter observed that the poor organisation and coordination of the election by the Committee paved way for lots of   irregularities during the election as one of the officials was spotted  directing voters on who to vote for.
