Apapa Interim administration of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has embarked on awareness creation of the forthcoming Chapter elections as well as the registration exercise which commenced on the 24th May, 2022
This is in keeping with the mandate given to to them by the National President of NAGAFF Chief Tochukwu Ezisi during the inauguration ceremony of the Caretaker Committees at the national headquarters of the association in Apapa-Lagos.
Addressing members of the chapter at the Apapa platform, white house, the Interim Chairman , Fwdr Ignatius Nwachukwu who was accompanied by the Secretary of the Committee, Fwdr. Kate Oghagbon and members of the 100% Compliance Team stressed the need for their participation in the registration exercise which according to him , will enable them to vote and be voted for in the upcoming chapter election.
Fwdr. Nwachukwu made it clear that for one to be eligible to vote and be voted for, compulsory payment of Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria ( CRFFN) annual fees up to 2022 must be made by old members while new members are to register and update the CRFFN annual subscription of 2022 for the purpose of election.
Continuing he said, ” old members of NAGAFF are to pay N5,000 annual subscription fee while new members are to pay N5,000 for registration and N2,500 for annual subscription. On NAGAFF membership ID cards, I want to let you know that it is ready for collection free of charge. The President in his magnanimity waved off the fees
” Those of you who have submitted your filled ID card forms should come to the Apapa Chapter Secretariat and collect same, while new members are expected to pick up the application forms after making payments at the bank, attached the receipts of payments to the registration form, put it inside a file and submit to the Apapa office”, he stated
Fwdr. Nwachukwu who doubles as the Chairman Ethics and Disciplinary Committee, NAGAFF pointed out that they are on rescue mission according to the mandate giving to them by the President as well as ensure proper validation of both voters , contestants and peaceful election
He Advised them to be law abiding in carrying out their business, considering the strategic position of Apapa Port, as well as make honest declaration, honest payments and bring their challenges to them for intervention
“But if you cut corners, we will not be involved. NAGAFF does not tolerate any person who is not compliant in carrying out his job or his business. If you want to be a NAGAFF member, ensure you make an honest declaration, ensure you pay your normal duty as given to you either by evaluation or by PAAR. and when that is done, let’s see any Custom officer who will not release the goods for us. We will get it done. But if you are doing a dubious job, you are on your own. So you must be a compliant person, you must follow due process in carrying out your duties, your business or your job.
“You must work within the ambit of the Law and when you lean beside the law, you will be bold and fearless but if you have skeleton in your cupboard, you will be jiltery. If you want to be a member of NAGAFF, keep your hands clean. We are not people that can do some funny things, do bad business. NAGAFF wants due process. NAGAFF wants to sanitise this port”, he concluded.
The Apapa Caretaker Committee boss who . showered praises on the National Chairman of NAGAFF 100% Compliance Team, Alhaji Tanko Ibrahim for releasing his team and ensuring that they perform optimally during the sensitisation exercise in Apapa.

Speaking also, the Secretary of the NAGAFF Apapa Chapter Interim Administration , Fwdr. Kate Oghagbon called for the cooperation of the chapter members for the success of the registration exercise by meeting up with election requirements.
